On our excursion to Catalina Island with snorkeling we invite you to explore the most beautiful underwater ecosystem in the Dominican Republic.

On Catalina Island, with its turquoise waters, you will experience an unforgettable day in paradise, enjoying its beaches, fresh breeze, amazing views and a selection of food and drinks included in the excursion, always with the immense Caribbean Sea as your Background curtain.

Catalina is a small island of less than 10 square kilometers off the coast of La Romana, from where it can be seen. The island is made up of coral stones and surrounded by one of the most diverse ecosystems in the Caribbean Sea. It is classified as a Protected Natural Park and is practically uninhabited, making it a very popular place to practice diving, fishing and snorkeling, admiring its lush seabed full of corals, sea sponges and a multitude of tropical fish.

Despite its size, the island has many beautiful white sand beaches well protected from the wind, thanks to which, its turquoise and crystalline sea is always absolutely calm and provides the ideal environment for snorkeling, seeing it for the first time. what you always dreamed of: coral formations, tropical fish of striking colors, spectacular sea sponges, seahorses, or perhaps the famous lionfish and toadfish.

They say that if you don’t close your eyes under the sea, the water will sting you. However, if you snorkel around Catalina Island, your eyes will sting if you don’t open them to discover the most exuberant marine fauna.

And one last detail to keep in mind for diving lovers: Catalina Island has optimal weather conditions almost all year round.

Highlights

First thing in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel to head to La Romana aboard a comfortable minibus; We will arrive at the port an hour later and board a catamaran to Catalina Island.
During the journey you will experience “El Muro”, a world-famous place for snorkeling. The depth of this snorkeling spot is 1 to 6 meters, literally covered in coral formations and sea sponges, where the most typical species of the Caribbean Sea such as seahorses swim and live.
Once on the Island, you can enjoy its beaches and crystal-clear turquoise water until lunch time when you will enjoy an open buffet with typical Caribbean Creole cuisine. Also there you can snorkel in a small reef full of life.
Around 3pm we boarded back to La Romana, on a trip enlivened with typical Dominican songs and dances.
Upon arrival in La Romana, we will take you back to your hotel.
